Visitors Visa

Currently, the only visa which could be process in the Consular Section, Tonga – Beijing Mission is the Visitors Visa (known by the Chinese Public as tourist visa)

Who should apply for Visitor’s Visa ?

Visitor’s Visa is issued to applicants who would like to visit the Kingdom of Tonga for leisure, short stay with family and friends, attending government, workshops and conferences and/or involve in government aid projects.

Applicants who intends to set up a business in Tonga may enter the Kingdom on a Visitor’s Visa but must write a letter and advise Tonga Immigration of their business intention. Failure to satisfy this requirement will result in a penalty fee of T$1,180.00.

Requirements

The following requirements must be met:

A most recent passport photo
Original Valid Passport within 6 months of the date of travel
Travel Itinerary of a Return ticket (to Tonga and to country of residency)
Evidence of sufficient funds to support period of stay while in Tonga or Sponsorship letter stating who bears expenses of return ticket, accommodation, meals and incidentals.

How do I apply ?

After checking that you have all the necessary documents required, you may leave it with the reception at the Embassy. If you are unable to come to the office, please send your application package to the Embassy Office address and include enough money for the Embassy to send back your documents by mail.

How long does it take to process a Visitor’s Visa?

You are advised to submit your application documents and allow 5 working days for the Consular Section to process your Visitor’s Visa.

What I cannot do with a Visitor’s Visa?

All applicants are hereby advised that holders of Non Tongan passports cannot take up employment, business, and study while visiting the Kingdom on a visitor’s visa. You must ensure that your visa remains valid at all times otherwise you will be prosecuted and subject to a term of imprisonment or fine or both under the Immigration Act.
